A few more questions on breeding....

OK. Here are more of my questions:

What should I use to incubate the eggs?

Can the babies be kept together for a while after they are hatched, or will they eat each other?

Thanks!!!

There are a few "recipes" for homemade incubators that you can investigate.

Babies are safe to keep together until after their first shed. They SHOULD be fine after that as well but just make sure you are there when you feed them so you can make SURE they don't accidentally eat each other.

Thanks!!! I've ordered the book, and am waiting for it to arrive. :)

Glad to hear it! :)

On a different (yet similar note), in consideration of the questions that you have been asking, perhaps you should hold off on breeding your corns. Now, this is only an opinion of mine (and not really my place to make any assumptions about your abilities/experience), and hopefully you won't take it the wrong way... the questions you have asked could be easily answered with quick research, as Susan has pointed out. It just doesn't seem to me that you've done such. While the actual act of breeding is very easy, it is still a complicated process. Many things can go wrong which could possibly jeopardize your adults and/or babies. Is this a gamble you really want to make with your corns?

As I said above, I hope this comment doesn't offend you. I'm glad that you are interested in securing the continuation of the species! However, with all the possibilites of error, I'm a big fan of having experience under your belt.

Whatever you choose to do, good luck to you and your corns!

Nope!!! I'm not offended.

I have done some research. There are a few points that I'm hoping to hear opinions on. I've read about different incubation methods, and was hoping that people would post the pro's and cons of different incubation methods. I am new to herping, but between my research, my dad and this website, I think I should be OK. Also, I want to breed snakes before I head off to college.....:)
