A not so funny story!

Its been months since I have posted so I wanted to start off with this story.

In late April or May I bought a female bloodred het pewter from Blue Ribbon, and she was stunning. I loved her! She was a fabulous eater and had no problems shedding. One day I decided to show her off so I took her out of her tank and gloated. Well, I put her back but apparently didnt put the top on correctly. An hour later she was gone. I tried EVERYTHING to find her. Fast forward to July, after I moved from Maryland to Indiana. I talk to my dad(whom I lived with at the time of my snakes escape) and he says " did you have a small red snake?"

YES!

He tells me our neighbor found it in his laundy room and threw it into another neighbors backyard. Great. Then he tells me THAT neighbor found it on his porch and threw it into someone elses yard! My beautiful snake!

Well, I learned my lesson. No, my snake never made it back to me here in Indiana. Hopefully its growing to a record breaking size due to feasting on the 5 pound rats in my neighborhood. :grin01:

That's a kind of sad lesson to have to learn.

I would hope for the best...that she's doing ok outside on her own, but I would worry about the neighbors tossing her around and her landing into the WRONG yard - one with a dog. Maybe you could have your dad put the word out to the neighbors that this was a snake you lost, have them return it to him and have him hold it for you until you can come and reclaim her! Now THAT would be a truely HAPPY ending! :)

that would be great if my dad would do that but he is deathly afraid of sbnakes! He is a big wuss. It sux, but theres nothing I can do :(
