Ok so. This is my first corn snake "Red Molly". I have had it three days now and it seems to be settling in ok. Not the greatest pics in the world but here they are none the less.

Yup, your not wrong there, ive been doing a good bit of reading the past few days and I think iv got every thing right. Definitely no problems in the feeding department anyway.:dancer:

Thanks Bluebird, It took all of ten mins for the little pinky to be consumed.

That time will get less and less with each feeding :)

Congrats on getting your first snake, very pretty! Keep us posted mate.

All the best

David

Thanks for the reply and the info Dave. I will be making some modification to the enclosure a bit closer to the weekend. I have aspen ready as the new substrate and maybe some other bits and bobs. I would have already had it in but I didnt want to disturb the snake so soon after eating. Ill have some pics up after the changes are made. I didnt even get a chance to handle Molly yet as it was the feeding day when I received her.

Sounds good mate.

However, I'd advise against using aspen with her when she's so young, especially if you feed inside the tank. When she's older you could feed in the tank with aspen as if she does manage to consume some, then she'll be able to pass it. But at that size she couldn't manage it, and impaction is a possibility.

If you plan on using aspen in her tank then I'd recommend feeding outside the tank in a seperate box, no substrate, just her and the mouse. Leave her in the dark and check up on her after thirty minutes, see if she's eaten it.

All the best

David

Thnx for the reminder Dave.
I have been doing alot of reading and this seems to be the common practice that I have read from alot of sources.
