Accidently ate some substrate

My corn snake accidently ingested some aspen subsrate while feeding. i know it was my fault by not feeding him in another tank but he was being aggresive and hadnt ate for a bit. should i worry alot or will it just pass through. Dont the snakes in the wild ingest things other then their prey?

Likely it will pass through. Switch him to paper towels for a while. This will make it easier to see the Pooh and see if the aspen passed.

I won't berate you for feeding on substrate, since you've apparently seen the error in doing so.

A little aspen shouldn't hurt. Keep in mind these critters do eat on the ground in the wild, they probably swallow a little junk from time to time. It's not good for it but a little should pass with a problem. To be safe I think Becky's suggestion is a very good one.
