ACORN Loses Housing Funding and CB in a week - end of the organization?

Pruddock

Gig 'Em Ags!! Whoop!!
For those of you who haven't seen it. This is the video that FINALLY pushed the Senate over the edge with the infamous ACORN organization.

The group still claims that this is just Fox lying and trying to get them because they're a liberal organization, but the Senate seems to have seen enough to feel otherwise...

Late last week the organization was cut by the Census Bureau after the video was released, and yesterday (I believe) the Senate voted to cut ACORN's Housing Funding. The extreme left wing group also had 11 members get charged with voter fraud early last week (I believe) for falsifying documents and voter registrations in the election.

Needless to say its been a rough week for the group. Do ya'll think they have a leg left to stand on or is the organization screwed?

Here's a link to the article on "Faux" :grin01: News. I would have linked it to CNN but couldn't find it reported anywhere last night. Maybe they got it up there this morning though...

Payton, I know your kind, you must be lying or racist. :nyah: There is no way that a group that was about to receive 6.5 billion in stimulus money could be corrupt. There is no way that BO has known about the level of corruption from way back even before they bussed people into the caucuses. :headbang:

I LOVE it!!

Let's point out the fanatics and extremists on one side of the fence while completely ignoring the radicals and extremists that are sleeping in our own beds.

Where's Brent with his pictures...Baaaaa....

Ok chris, you find me the article where the Young Conservatives are helping pimps and hoes on my tax dollar and I'll read it and call it ridiculous. I don't think yo understand that I don't give a rats tail about who they vote for. What I care about are their actions. You assume so much it sickens me. Extremists from any side are rediculous and I think most people will agree. Maybe even you. Im just discussing the one at hand. So deal with it or don't.

And i know you're going to brig him up so I'll adress it now. Rush is a great example of another extremist nutbag that drives me insane. Fortunately as long as he's not using my tax dollars to spew his opinions, I have less of a problem with him.

You love calling out conservatives but I have yet to see you make a remotely moderate statement. Till then i'm done with you because I don't believe you can come into a political discussion without immediately slamming hard against that far left wall and staying there.

Now see...with the exception of the last paragraph...we're finally getting somewhere.

Believe it or not...I agree with you. Extremists are the problem, on both sides of the fence. And I've said that many times. I'm just as mad about this particular video as you are. The difference is...I'm not only acknowledging the bad on side of the fence.

I've said in several different topics that there are plenty of legitimate reasons to criticize Obama, his plans, and his ideas. Problem is...nobody seems to be doing that. People keep bringing up the nonsense...the ridiculous. The stuff that isn't even real, because it is easier to scare people that way. If you want to discuss REAL issues(such as this one...but I'll get to it in a moment...), I'm all for it, and I'm sure you will find me just as moderate as most...maybe even find ourselves on agreeing more than one might think...

You know why you see me slam against that left wall? Because of late the recent political discussions have mostly been about stuff that isn't real. We are "debating" the merits of stuff that never happened. If I am going to "debate" a conspiracy theory...you darn right I'm going to do it from the left. Problem is...it's a fake argument.

Debating the indoctrination issue was ridiculous, because the original "press release" that started the whole thing was made up by some guy that just assumed a whole bunch of nonsense with any evidence.

What was there to debate about Sen. Wilson? Really, there are people that don't believe he was rude? That's something you learn on the kindergarten playground...wait your turn and don't interrupt. Doesn't matter who he is or what he said, he was rude. Yet people still turned it into a partisan debate.

Debating healthcare reform against strawmen about the Public Option that at this point in time doesn't even exist. Debating the validity of statements like "forcing hospitals to treat patients without checking ID"? Debtaing whether or not insurance companies are capable of regulating themselves?? Really? We already KNOW they can't!!

So yea...when I'm debating myths, falsehoods, lies, mosconceptions, and ridiculous partisan-based accusations from as far to the left as I can get. You gotta battle conspiracy theories with idealism...

As for this video...it disgusts me. It's horrible what these people are doing, and it isn't justifiable. But you can't tell me that there aren't just as many equally horrifying videos available showing the OTHER side of the partisanship coin. So this topic, in essence, becomes another in a string of recent partisan attacks from one side or the other, all equally extreme from both sides.

Hmm...how many of these topics did start? The only thing you see from me is a case of fighting fire with fire. I am debating partisan accusations with partisan accusations...the same thing you are doing, and the same thing *most* of the participants in *most* of these recent threads have been doing.

Don't get mad at me about it. I haven't seen very many "middle of the road" statements coming from you, personally, or "your side", either. The same partisan garbage that everyone else spewing...including me. So don't get it all twisted and personal-like...

Not helping....just being. ;)

Dale

Wait a minute...doesn't he have the Constituional Right of Freedom of the Press to be there and to film? I mean...there were plenty of other video cameras there filming...why not his?

Ah, well. Pimping out the poor to fight for something you believe in is at least legal, still, right? :poke:

Chris, this is the type of discussion I was hoping for and I agreed with a lot of your other comments in this post. I also agree with the extremism that has seemed to take its toll on a lot of the political threads. I try not to be extreme, though I know that my tendencies and beliefs definitely lean towards the right as I know that yours leans towards the left. I think that if we all try not to push extremes that the discussions will remain more towards the middle as most of the time extremism on one side tends to fuel and fire extremism on the other side. That's just the observation I've made from overlooking the past few threads, and I know I'm going to strive to post within the realm of my beliefs and personal findings rather than the extremes my emotions take me to like they did in my previous post. I hope you'll accept my apology for attacking you personally, and I am somewhat glad that the result was generating a discussion on the topic at hand rather than partisanship and the fact that it happens on both sides. I'm sure that if an extreme conservative group were to engage in an act such as ACORN that NBC and CNN would have no problems pointing it out. I was just trying to discuss one that was currently at hand and I'm glad that you engaged.
