Today i got Medusa out to see was she okay (shed been spending lots of time tucked away behind a fake wall at the back of her viv) so when i unearthed her she didn't respond to me lifting up her cave hide, i lifted her up and she was very jumpy and kept recoiling as if to bite me. she never done this before shes usually completely calm :S whats going on? is there a reason for her sudden mood swing .shes not about to shed or anything

thanks

You probably woke her up. She was having a nice nap until you disturbed her. Some of my snakes get rather jumpy if you wake them up.

oh lol didn't even begin to think about that :p thanks ,i think i worry too much about her but cant help it :p..out of curiosity if snakes have no eyelids do they just sleep with there eyes open?

Yep! Sometimes, they'll tuck their heads in their coils, or head off to a dark area.

Could be going into shed. A few of mine are strictly hands off when their in blue, clearing up, and then even for a day after shed:)

In my experience, if I'm going to get bit it's when i wake up one of our's up. They are usually pretty testy then.

No not at all my younger ones shed every 3-4 weeks, and older ones every 4-6 weeks. You can miss the blue stage when they are hiding and catch them when they've cleared up, but not shed yet.
