I Have 2 corns buzz (amel) and chomp (classic) i was just wondering about buzz, he is active all the time and i mean really active !! he is constantly climbing on his branches in his viv ( when we first put a light in his viv the wire wasnt tacked up and he was always climbing on it ) and across the piece of rope i have just hung in there, he trys to climb up the glass front by hanging on the lock and even trys to slither along the 4mm ledge where the vent is (but more often than not he falls off very ungracefully lol my 5yr old son says he is falling with style :) ) the only time he seems to settle is after he has fed and then he only stays in his hide for about 2 hours then he is off climbing again.
chomp on the other hand prefers to come out of an evening and she seems quite content to go up her branch and sit there for ages.

so is buzzs behaviour normal for a corn ???

It's certainly normal for an adult male Corn at this time of year.

Check temps - too high can make them hyperactive. If that's OK, then I suspect he's just "full of the joys of Spring" (and you can explain that to your 5 year old any way you like!).

Couldnt help myself...had to respond...you guys are obviously Big "Buzz LightYear" fans eh??? the "Falling with Style" line got me! :) would one of the 2 corns be female??? i'd go with Bitsy response...it is "that" time of year....:dancer:

come on who doesnt love buzz !!! :) when i first got them they were housed in the same viv and had only one hide and nothing to climb. before i could seperate them they mated, i got another viv and separated them asap ! they have been apart for about 6 weeks now and chomp my female laid her first clutch on monday. as soon as they were separated we put lots of branches and 2 hides either end like is recommended in both vivs , buzz was always active before when they was cohabiting but wow since he has had his own viv and lots of things to climb( other week put a rope tacked to the top of his viv ) the boy dont stay still ever im sure he thinks he is in training for the olypmics !!
just wondered if this was normal behaviour for a corn ??? altho he is fascinating to watch no he is so active my 1 yr old sits in front of the viv all the time watching lol :)

Yes, this is normal behaviour for an adult male Corn in the breeding season.

If they've been co-habbed, sometimes Corns take a while to adapt to being on their own. Could be that he's just going through a settling down stage.
