Adult female corn not eating...

Hello all, I know you guys get a lot of questions like this but... Last night my female corn refused a mouse. I have been trying to keep them on a 10 day feeding schedule due to the fact that they have some mild fat deposits, but i am usually a few days late to feed them. My male just shed for the first time this year, so that means he's ready to breed, but I am still waiting for my female to shed. I don't think stress is a factor in her refusal of food, and as far as the environment goes the only thing that has changed is that i am keeping baby chickens in my bedroom. Could the scent of the chicks somehow be throwing her off, or is it just because of breeding season? My male snatched the mouse as soon as I dropped it in there. My female is usually somewhat hesitant to eat, but she has never refused. I am not too worried yet, but I am very anxious to know why she refused.
