Adults adapted

Jaybonez

Feeder
Hi everyone.
I just adapted two adult snakes. One is a corn & the other is a ball.
Can anyone tell me how long i should wait to feed them there first meal? I was told they were feed a week ago today. The ride was only about 15 mins from where i got them to my house. If that matters at all.

Thanks in advance!! Jay

Only because it works for me almost 100% of the time and not that they feel at home or anything but it makes me feel better always day 3.

I have a nice caresheet on ball pythons down in my personal forum which might answer a lot of questions. I'd let the cornsnake settle in for a week- he is rpobably on a two week scuedule anyway. And I'd make sure the ball is REALLY comfortable and settled.

And you didn't say, but just in case -these snakes should not be in the same enclosure.

Thanks guys. No they are both in there own enclosures. :)
The corn i was told eats every week, is that a bad thing? Should i move away from feeding weekly ?

How old (or large) is your corn? I feed adults every 7 days, babies every 5.

I don't know how you do that, Chip. If I did, my adults would be fatty 1200 gram porkers.

Lots of hoppers. When people have been over at feeding day, they are usually surprised that the largest ones often get the smallest mice.

Not too sure how old. The guy i got it from said around 5 years.
Does anybody know why they rattle their tails? Is this a sign of aggression?

Hee! They rattle their tails so you think they are rattlesnakes and leave them alone.

As for feeding, get a good digital scale that will weigh the snake and that will help you choose the right size mouse to feed.

I wouldn't call tail rattling aggression. More of a warning, like- I'm doing something, please don't bother me. Or- I'm unsure of your intentions, perhaps I can warn you off.
