Hi there,
I'm getting a new snake in a few weeks and just in the process of preparing its home. I am going to call it Indi after Indiana Jones as he hated snakes and I loved his movies!!!!!!
Anyway what I need to know is ........ everything!! Been doing lots of homework, but I want to know what sort of climbing stuff should I put in. Are there things that will cause harm or be poisonous to the snake etc... Also can I put plants in the aquirium? I have a large one and will heat it with mats. Any advice would be great. Its an adult snake as thats what they seem to sell in the pet shop.
Ta

There are minor variances in the advice of the Corn Snake Care Sheets linked here.
Let Common Sense dictate.

Keyword searches here of the "Archived Past Posts" (tab at top of page), many times, can provide a wealth of information.

Glad to see your learning details about your new hobby before bringing your new buddy home.
"We",...my dogs and I, like that in a New Corn snake Keeper. ;) :)

Thanks heaps

Thats great, what a brilliant amount of info. I have already saved all the pages to read later. It will be some time yet before I get my new little fella so I should be well set up by then. I can't wait, I am dreaming about them at this stage!! Ta thats fantastic, thanks!
Maria:)

as your this side of the atlantic there is one site by a guy based in scotland that i found so amazingly helpful... it's specifically aimed at new owners. It's not specific to corns, but the guy is an expert and if you have problems he answers all mails within 24 hours... i hope I'm not treading on any toes by putting the addy up, but its not exactly a competitor for members of this site... it's www.petsnakes.co.uk

between there and here I've had no worries when something bugged me in the early days... go and have a look around and mail Jim ... he's very friendly..

Thanks Bob

Thanks for that, will do so. We have really very little info here, owning pet snakes isn't common here and I know so few people who like them. :(
Cool, great help, thanks again.
