Albino Candy Cane?

Autumn

New member
Hey everyone... My snake Autumn and I are new to this forum, and were wondering if you could possibly identify her morph for us? The guy at the local reptile store told us that she's an albino candy cane, but I was wondering as to your opinions.
Here is my girl:

She's doing great and eating really well- she had 2 pinkies today!

Looks like regular Albino to me. But im no expert. Welcome to the forums. Nice looking corn by the way congrats.

chad is correct just a normal amelanistic (albino) but very nice white borders =) pretty snake!

Autumn, you have a very pretty snake. It gets kind of confusing but your snake is amelanistic. This color is most often called Amel. It is an albino in the sense that it lacks the melanin pigment in it’s skin, which is what amelanistic means. Candy Cane is a term that describes an Amel with extra wide white borders. I don’t think yours are extra wide. They will become more prominent as the snake ages and more white, but I think they will remain normal.

Nice snake though. Welcome to the forum.

Wade, I think you're mixing up candycanes and ROs here. XD

To the OP:

Candycanes are supposed to have a white ground color and red/orange saddles. I can already see yellow/orange bleeding into the area between the saddles on your snakes neck, and these will likely spread as time goes by.

OK I'll agree with that, I meant the boarders spread to include the ground color between saddles.

He looks a lot like my Amel when i purchased him just the only difference is that mine had an almost orange look to the head area. All the white my Amel had is now turning orange so I assume yours will do the same.
