Most of my collection ( of 17 ) are albinos ( Royals / Kings / Garters / Corns ) and the ONE thing they all have in common is terrible coordination when striking or simply biting onto a dead mouse ... I recall reading something suggesting that Albinos had slightly defective vision ... is that possible ??

I doubt it's a problem across the board, because my Rigby is a snow and my Timmy is an amel, and both see perfectly fine. There is a noticeable difference in their coordination and behaviour when they are in blue and obviously can't see clearly.
I have heard that red-eyed snakes are more likely to have their eyes damaged by inappropriately bright lights, though.

Judging by the other forums there certainly is a noticeable difference in he sight / reactions of albinos and normals in snakes / animals / humans etc
All I can say is that 5 of my 11 snakes are albino based, and none of them have a problem with striking. I just fed them all last night and I paid attention to it to see if I noticed a difference between my albino-based and my non-albinos and there was none. They all hit the mouse on the first try with no problems. I don't use lights with any of my snakes, and they get limited exposure to daylight because I usually have my blinds drawn.

I don't have many albinos but have never noticed a lack of vision in the few I have.
Though like Rigby & Marcy said, albinos are more prone to damage to their eyes than ones with the normal amount of melanin. So vision might not be defective directly from the lack of melanin but many might have vision problems simply because it does make damage to their eyes many times more likely.
I also don't have lights on my amel based snakes and would not for that very reason ...
