This baby albino deer was found in Texas in the Bolivar Peninsula area. Just thought that some of you animal lovers might like to see it.

Here is the info that i got with the e-mail

Albino Fawn from folks who live on Bolivar Peninsula , Texas

A very eventful day around here... A once in many lifetimes experience!
Mark saw this lil' feller run out in front of a car, thought it was a lost baby goat. Stopped to get it, and WOW. A real Albino Whitetail Deer. Just hours old, but doing fine. No Momma deer around. Another car nearly hit it in front of Mark...
Well,, he is THE neatest thing any of us ever saw. And such a 'freak of nature', that only 1 in more than a million are even born. He took his bottle of food, followed us around the house, doing great. So, we called the Zoo & Fossil Rim, who were both interested, but going to send him to a Rehab farm, at a vet that we have never gotten along with... So, one of Dad's best friends is our Game Warden. Kinda reluctantly, but, I called him and told him the deal. He came right over, of course... and assured me that he wouldn't take it to that vet, that he was going to 'go to higher levels' than that with him.. So, he is gone now. We got a lot of pix, and something we will never see again probably, so it was very cool. Maybe he will make it in captivity somewhere and be appreciated. So rare... Sure wanted to keep him tho. but, not the thing to do. And not LEGAL either ; But, here are a couple of pix to show ya. He was snow white, pink eyes, ears, nose and hooves. Kids called him POWDER. He was SO small. That is my shoe lying beside him... WOW..how cool is that??

Very cool!!!!!!! I work at a Harley dealership and the store theme is outdoors with wildlife and things. We have a bunch of taxidermy animals and fish around the store . One of the animals we have is called a pie-balled white-tail. She was about 4 years old when she was shot here in Maine. I will take some pics tomorrow and post them so you can see. That deer you have is incredible.

Did you ever take that pic. I would love to see that deer. Oh and the deer in that pic is not mine but was found by a friend of my mom.

Actually I forgot. I'm sorry and I will take my camera to work with me tomorrow and I will post you some pics. Again, saorry for my tardiness.

Awesome pics! I have been living here on 125 acres in NC, and had heard the neighbors talk about an albino whitetail living around here for 9 years. I never believed it, until one day I was taking a walk around the property with my Mom, and across the field there she was!! Such a beautiful animal. I hope none of the hicks around here ever get a shot at her, it would be a terrible waste of a gift from Mother Nature.

Okay know I hunt for a living. But that I just could not shoot. Its so dang beautiful to eat. lol

Ah, but Brent, those in NY are white deer, not albinos. :)
Aaaahhh! Touche' young grasshopper! :bang: You are correct sir!

I have noticed your bubble bursting skills have become much gentler in nature.

I have seen white deer in the wild, not sure if albino to far away to see the eyes clearly. In south west Michigan there is also a place that has a high number of white deer. Really just some of the same things we are dealing with in snakes. Serp's favorite subject genetics, local areas that produce this effect tend to continue to produce it because of the genetics of the local herd. The hard part is keeping them hidden from the coyotes. For a fawn like that to make it past the first few weeks is miraculous in a place that has any full time predators.

Just for the record I would never shoot one but I will continue to tag all the brown ones I can because they are delicious!!

I miss living in the mid-west during venison season...*whimper*

If anyone gets "too much" venison in the freezer, SEND ME SOME! :crazy02:

Casandra it is only May and I am down to 1/4 of the freezer, I missed one this year. I didn't shoot but she saw me move, it doesn't take much at 15 yards. I only hunt a few days a year so each day in a tree is important. But next year if I take a couple, who knows maybe I'll reuse the dry ice from a mouse order?
