no, it doesnt disturb them too keep it on. but i use a blue light at night, red bulb in day.

I dont know exactly if its because they cant see it, or cant see it well. im not entirely sure.
 
i have to say tho. i would use blue bulb. its more like night time and they react alot better to it. i used to use red light at night time and didnt get alot of response.

With blue light they like to come out and have a wander and a climb.
