hey, nice idea to photograph them on a Mirror.....

German for beginners :crazy02:

Beautiful shots of stunning snakes! I have been wanting to do that with my snakes... About how big of mirror would I need? Any recommended techniques.

Guten tag Sunproject... I speak a very few words.. can't spell it to save my life though.

ok - first of all, sorry for my english!!

I took the mirror of our bathroom and layed it on the table. Then I took a big, black paper (din A2) and putted it a bit under the mirror and then from the backside up over the mirror, like a roof. This is necessary for getting a black background. Now I layed the snake on the mirror and shooted ;-). And... a little bit of corrections in photoshop. finish.

best regards
Mumi

Gotta make sure the mirror is clean as well! Those corrections can be done in photoshop, but they might be harder to correct if there's a smudge on the snake's reflected image.

What about light source? Flash or light bulb?

Very, very beautiful snakes, excellent shots!

My husband is Swiss--grew up in the Toesstal Valley east of Winterthur in Kollbrunn. We visit every so often, his family is there.
