Amel x Hypo?

Ummmm, I was asking about the offspring of a pairing containing those traits as hets, making a snake homozygous for both. I guess I should have put it as Amel/Hypo. But thanks.

Amel masks hypo so I am pretty sure it would be near impossible, if not completely impossible to tell the difference between a regular amel and an amel that is homo hypo. :)

There is no trade name for this particular combo but a few breeders that have produced these, or proven an amel to be homozygous hypo, have said that this combo is often a bit "brighter" than regular amels. I haven't seen any side-by-side comparisons, but it is a possibility as hypo snows have been shown to often be more colorful (coral snows) so that extra color could also be present in hypo amels.

Thanks Velvet, I was wondering if amel masks hypo (like Anery/Caramel). I guess the proof will be in the puddin' as they say.

Interesting, as the hypo portion of this mix will come from a Coral Snow crossed with a Lavender het amel. We are hoping down the line for Lav Corals, to see what the lavender effect will have on the coral lines. When calculating this out we came up with the hypo/amel and I experienced a bit of brain warping trying to figure_that_ out. And wow, brighter than regular amels? My eyes are hurting already. Not to mention what the Hypo/Lav/Amels might look like. That might be a nice tone-down.... We're really in this hoping the Lavender will heighten the blue tints our Coral shows.
