And snakes as a species are millions of years old??

So it's Fuzzy's feeding night, great excitement for me, and when he's interested, pretty exciting for him.

He's not ever been a fussy eater, and doesn't seem to prefer butt first or head first over the other. Tonight however, I think he thought he was getting a cheeseburger or something.

So all 72 grams of him attacked the dead thing, he coiled around it a couple times, looked at me as if to say "You're next MWaHaHaHaHa" and started to eat the mouse.....from the middle of the back.

15 minutes later, after apparently NOT being able to fold the mousie in half, he finally let go of it, and headed for the corner of the feeding bin and kinda pouted for a minute....until I tried to move the mouse with the big feeding tong.

Fuzzy saw it move, and literally shot across the tub, hit the mouse right on the nose, and finally was able to enjoy his meal.

I wish I could have gotten a couple pictures of it, it was hilarious!

Hahaha I love it when they try to eat them all sideways... it cracks me up. Little snakes are hilarious!

I know what you mean. I have a male sand boa that's kinda a finicky eater. One time stupid me gave him a meal that was a tad too big for his jaws, I think it was a fuzzy. He grabbed it by the middle and tried to down it. I tried to gently take it away from him with the tongs and he got MAD! NO! NO! MINE! IT'S MINE! GO AWAY AND GET YOUR OWN! So I let him be. He eventually figured it out and downed it. It took him a good long while though. Hey, nobody said that snakes were smart as dogs!

My big ghost girl will try to eat them from the middle... or a single limb... She takes about 15 minutes to find the head on her own. :/ She's definitely not the ... er... brightest creature ever.

Thumper had one get "stuck" one time because he managed to pinch a front shoulder joint so that the leg stuck out at a 90* angle..... just couldnt figure out how to get that blasted leg in his mouth. He finally worked his way around... never letting go of the section that was already in his mouth.... until he got the darned leg in his mouth. After that it was short work for him to make the rest dissappear.

I think he just likes to put on a show, whether disgusting or hilarious. last feeding he decided to dunk the mouse in his water and proceed to wipe the ENTIRE top half of his cage with the half of the mouse that was still hanging from his mouth. I couldn't help but grab a few pics, because seeing a corn stretched all the way to the top of his viv, with a tail and two legs dangling is actually funny to me.... wife thought not though.
