Hi everyone I have a question in regards to some hatchlings that hatched today. the female is an Anery the male a snow. I thought after I bred them I messed up cause the calculator said I should get all normal and anery het for snow. anyways most are coming out snow and anery so far. I am glad that I have snows but would like to understand the genetics in this.

Yes especially since I thought I messed up since I had the amel for breeding. If I would have bred the amel would I have had to breed the next generation in order to get the snows?

If the calculator said you would get Normals, the calculator was wrong.;)
With an Anery x Snow you should get all Anery het Amel hatchlings ... unless the Anery is het Amel.
An Anery het Amel x Snow will give you a mixture of Snow and Anery het Amel babies.
So, it seems your Anery is het Amel and you are getting the expected results.:)

If you breed an Amel (without its being het Anery), to a Snow, you would get all Amel hatchlings that are het Anery. Yes, you would have to wait, until you bred these Amel hatchlings (after they grew up), to get Snows.

very interesting thanks a bunch, there were like 19 eggs and there are only a few more to hatch I cant believe such a high hatch rate. most are snow a few anery

Well 14 snow, 4 anery, and 1 that looks like ghost Ill try to get some pictures up to confirm. if it is ghost would that mean one of the adults is het for ghost?

Look forward to the pics. If you happen to have a Ghost, in the clutch, it would mean that both parents are het Hypo ... or one parent is Hypo while the other is het Hypo ... either way could produce a Ghost.

pictures of the surprise

ive attached some pictures of the corns I wish there were more of the questionable ghost hatchings Ive also attached one from my sunglow motley bred to amel.
