Another feeding question- Overfeeding?

When I got my snake, the guy was feeding one mouse every two weeks.
I think the snake was underweight--he had ridges on his sides and was just generally thin.

I began feeding one mouse/week, and he gained a little weight, but still had the ridges and still seemed hungry after feeding.

When he got hurt, I began feeding him two hoppers/fuzzies, thinking it would be about as much food as one adult. When the store ran out of those, I gave him two adults, since their adults are tiny and again, I figured it wouldn't be much more food.

He has been getting two adults/week for the last few feedings, eats the second as eagerly as the first, and hasn't had any problem digesting.

So is that ok? Could I be overfeeding him if he is eating readily and digesting fine?

he may take the second one with no problem even if hes not hungry since hes a snake he has instinks to take the meal while he can because he doesnt know when the next chance to eat will arrise.. Mine are just over a year adn eat one hopper(large) a week and they arent skinny but there Average size.. i think 2 adults might be to much seeing as how he WAS fed 1 hopper every 2 weeks :|

I think that once he fills back out to a normal size, then you should probably back him off to one mouse a week. If it is a "he" then a large weanling mouse per week is probably sufficient.

I feed quite a few of my snakes every two weeks due to the fact that they gain weight more easily than the others. If he does fine on one a week, then you can continue giving him that. If you notice him starting to look a little chunky, then you should either feed him less often or decrease the size of the prey.

Alrighty. I guess I'll resume 1/wk now. I'm pretty sure he's a he. :x That's what I was told, anyway. (though I think he has a girly tail, but what do I know. >>)

Thanks. :)
