Hello all,

Just a few lines to introduce myself to the forum.

I am a 40something year old Scot, who is the proud owner of an 18 month old Carolina corn snake.

I have a friend who breeds rock pythons, and was hoping to originally acquire one of these, but a lack of space, and a very forceful "no" from my good lady wife, put paid to that idea.

When my daughter turned a teenager, she aked my wife if she could possibly get a Corn snake for her birthday. Of course you can dear, was the answer.!

Anyway i hope to pick up some tips and knowledge, from what I am sure is a very "clued-up" bunch of people, and look forward to participating in the forum in general.

My other hobbies include building and repairing computers, and playing the guitar. (loose description) :)

Anyway thank you for having me in your forum, and i'm sure I will get to know some of you a lot better as time goes by.

Regards Joe.

Hello and welcome to the forum!

Don't worry - I do the same thing to my poor mother. She always wanted to get a cat, and my dad kept vetoing the idea... and one day I came home from work (I spent 4 years working at a veterinary hospital) and said there was a lovely little kitten I wanted to bring home... and of course he said ok!

:) But I'm glad you got the corn snake, is it male or female? Any pictures?

Eriathiel,

I will get a photo taken in a couple of days and post it on the forum.

The snake is a male, and is starting to get very large for a Carolina.

He shed his skin this afternoon, and it measures at five foot seven inches without stretching.

Wow five feet 7 inches! Of course the skin is a bit longer then the snake from being stretched, but still thats a large corn! I'm sure he's lovely! I bet when I see those pics I'm going to be jealous!

Welcome aboard man hope you enjoy chating it up with us on the forums, I'm looking forward to seeing your pics too :D

shouldn't the water bowl be a little bit bigger? I mean for a corn that size??

Very very nice snake by the way! :0) and welcome to the forum :grin01:
