Any Guesses?

I got a couple of better shots of the belly on my new pickup...not good headshots cause the little bugger wouldn't stay still long enough...

He/she is definitely lighter than a normal corn...and has the blurred belly...no actual checkerboard look at all...is there anyway to atleast narrow down what would cause the belly pattern (or lack thereof)?

I'll have to check into the Masque gene....haven't even ever heard of it! Lol...and I too am leaning towards Ultramel as far as his coloring goes...

This is the best head pic I could get...

Snakelet there is definitely displaying the masque traits (reduced head pattern/thickened brow band and split belly checkers) that used to be associated with 'het bloodred'. Instead, it is actually its own dominant trait. I had a charcoal masque that was NOT het diffused and he passed the trait to about half his offspring.

Sweet! I guess we shall see in the future! Does Masque have any defining qualities as they grow/age? Like how the pattern fades on BR...? Anything along those lines? There really isn't a ton of info on them that I can find...

Nope. What you see right now is basically what you get. It's the head pattern and the belly pattern and that's about it.
