This is our snake about 1 and a half months ago when we first got him. But what is he?! We were told he's a normal but the lady who had him didn't even like touching snakes (?!) so not sure how well she inspected the snakes, or even what difference this makes? Sorry these pics are bad, we were just so excited to be holding him for the 1st time!

Thank you! We thought so from the pictures of other snakes, but as we're newbies we wanted to check. Do normals change a certain way as they get older?

Yep, they get bigger. :D

 exactly
apart from that they'll change color. More red will develop. Just how red your little one will become... you'll have to wait and see. It's different for every snake.

You might like this thread I've linked to, with all the lovely normal corns showing how variable they are. Over the first couple of years you can expect more red, orange and yellow pigments to appear..............usually! Some normals express the colours more strongly, some get a heavy melanin wash that makes them darker, some show fading and frosting of the saddle colours.

Awh thank you so much diamondlil, that's a really good link. Lots of variation then! We can't wait to see how Salvador turns out :) Thanks again!
