Any tips for picking out a baby corn?

My wife and i are going to the St. Louis reptile show next weekend and she is wanting to get a new corn. It will be a birthday present and I've never really had my "pick" of corns, at least not that big of a selection, and wondered if there was any good tips or tricks for getting a good one. I plan on handling it, just to make sure it's healthy. Beyond that, I need some advice. Thanks for the help.

First of all get one from a breeder.
Look for a ""active" snake with no kinks. Looks for mites too, don't want to bring them home. Talk to the breeder and find all the info (parents and such) as you can. Talk to a few breeders.
After that, it come down to what morph and price you like.

I personally like bigger more aggressive hatchlings from the start. Bright clear eyes (unless in blue), NO kinks, I prefer to know its history and feeding records, don't like ones in bad shed, is my personal preference, active and chunky looking babies. I don't like them to feel "limp" or looking thin. Go with a good breeder usually and check the BOI on Fauna on anyone you want to purchase from, if they are not on there ask people.

If possible ask if you can handle them before you buy, also ask if they're good feeders, and if its feeding time soon if there's one you're interested in buying ask if you can see it feed. Nothing worse than a bad feeder.

Also ask as many questions as you can

What is it being fed (live / thawed frozen) (pinkie 2x pinkie etc)
How old it is (when was it hatched)
Parents (for breeding purposes if youchoose to breed in the future)
Size of parents (generally speaking large corns will give birth to large corns, and small ones to small corns)

Also ask for recommendations on things like bedding, how often to feed, temperatures, size of enclosure you'll need etc. These are all things you can find out online or in here, the reason I say ask is because some breeders have no clue what they're talking about. I've seen one recommend using the eco-earth stuff which is for high humidity snakes / reptiles and would probably cause problems for a corn. I've also seen them say things like "you'll need a 30 gallon tank" when its still a hatchling (a tank like that they'd get VERY stressed, and would probably escape easy)

If they give bad answers or have trouble answering look elsewhere.

Actually, sorry wowfood, but DON'T ask to see it feed! The stress of being jogged around a reptile show, driven in a car, and then dumped into a new tank could cause a regurge.

Ah right reptile show. Forgot about that bit, I normally went to where the breeder was / store was.
