Just wondering if anyone does and what are some advantages and disadvantages to useing it. My buddy uses it on his viv so thats where the idea came from.
It makes an excellent cleaner and has no harmful chemicals. Just make sure you rinse really well and let the viv air out first, as snakes and other lizards don't care much for the smell of vinegar. You should find that the smell dissipates quickly though. It's a great alternative to harsh chemical cleaners.
Ditto the above...I love using it. I soak my fish tanks when I move fish from tank to tank, I clean my hamsters with it, and I currently clean my snake viv with it. It takes no time for the smell to dissipate as mentioned above. It's also great for removing hard water spots if you spray your viv for humidity. Goot schtuff!
i just cleaned some new tanks that i got from my aunt with vinegar, she kept some salt water fish in them so there was some calcium build up and it came right off. ill probably be using that instead of bleach from now on.
Top tip - thank you! I live in a hard water area and limescale builds up in water bowls regardless of how often I clean them. Vinegar sounds like the way forward.
I have 2 squirt bottles. In one I have vinegar, in the other hydrogen peroxide. I squirt with one bottle, then the other. I read if you mix them in one bottle they aren't as effective. The peroxide really works well on the gummy messes.
