i will be looking at getting a hatchling from a private breeder, hopefully based in england, not a petshop because i feel the care they get there aint upto much ( no offence), but if i cant find a private breeder from the uk on this site, what is the law with dealing with breeders abroad (ie) america?

As far as reptile shops go, some are great, some aren't. Luckily my local one is good. It's a smaller market in the UK and the truly bad ones tend to get a bad reputation and go out of business quite quickly. Don't think I'd buy a reptile from a general pet shop unless I was absolutely confident about their sources and husbandry (and that hasn't happened yet).
