Northeast IA, Southwest WI, or MN in general willing to meet approximately halfway, interested in splitting an order of frozen mice? Or are there any feeder breeders in the area? I'll be needing some fuzzies, hoppers, and adults and it would be nice to split an order with someone!

We are in south central MN but have just ordered a large lot for ourselves. since we now have 7 it would be hard to split an order. But it is nice to see there are others out there in southern MN.

Aw shoot, and Austin would have been close enough! Oh well, thanks for posting anyway, and it is nice to know there are others out here! Seems like the majority of people on this site are from no where near here, lol.

Keep it in mind in the future, though it wouldn't be a "split" per-say, I'd still go at least half-and-half on the shipping because that's only fair.

The mice are going to be here Wednesday. Come up with an idea how many of what size you need etc, and we can certainly sell to you for what we paid for them :) I think I figured out that w/ shipping, this batch is going to cost 29 cents per mouse. That's not a totally accurate price because we have 5 different sizes coming, but we can certainly come up with something way cheaper than PetCo/Smart.

Oh goodness that would be a HUGE leap in the direction of a better price than Petsmart, $10.99 for 6 fuzzies and the same price for 4 adult mice. :headbang: It's more of what you're willing to part with I suppose, and I'll have to negotiate for some freezer space, so there's another factor. Let me know what you're getting, I PM'ed your wife a few minutes ago so maybe she'll be letting me know. This is a huge help though, and I really appreciate it! Thanks!

Here's the make-up of our order:

100 large pinks (2.5 - 3.0g)
100 fuzzies (4.5 - 7.0g)
100 hoppers (8 - 12g)
50 weanlings (13 - 19g)
50 adults (20 - 29g)

And like I said, feel free to pick and choose. I have no problem with making sure the big stores don't get any extra money :)

Shelby - I forwarded the message to him this evening. Hadn't had a chance to get back on here til now. I'll have him look it over then we can figure something out from there. We actually might be going back through Rochester on Friday afternoon, on our way to LaCrosse. So once you guys figure it out we can come up with something.

Seems to me by your numbers there, that you guys have more young corns than adults. I only have one younger one and two larger ones, so I wouldn't need too many of the fuzzies, hoppers, or weanlings, but then again I don't want to steal all your adults either!

It's up to you guys, whatever you feel like you can part with. I mean if there's a size that you won't use up as quickly, and can get more on your next order without running out. I'll do your rate of $0.29 a mouse, or whatever you figure out. A flat rate per mouse regardless of size is alright as well.

Friday would probably work for me depending on what time, I usually have to work in the afternoons, but I'm sure we could work something out if Friday didn't work.

Let us know what you need from the size of mice he put up there. If you are looking for 10-20 weeks worth or what. If you are thinking like 10-20 of the adult, that works. We currently only have one eating the adults. Friday would be early evening as we are on our way to LaCrosse but I do work pretty much every day, or we could do a meet in Dexter or something once we can figure out what sizes you need. We are happy to help, cause we know all too well what a rip off the price of mice is from the pet stores.

I think 10 fuzzies, 5 hoppers and 10 adults will do for now. Let me know about this afternoon, or another day if you don't see this post before you leave!

I was looking for a more local breeder and I came across Marc Bailey, out of Moorhead. I've read only good things about him and he'll do shipping for $15, pretty much flat out. He charges $12.50 per box/dry ice and he didn't send along prices for individual mice, but I've heard he keeps his prices pretty in line with some of the "big box" dealers. He also said he could do a $50 minimum purchase instead of the $100 minimum. His email address is [email protected], very friendly so far!

I know you guys _just_ ordered what you'll need for a few months, but maybe you can use him in the future? Just thought I'd give you a heads up!

Those sizes would be ok. I work Tues through Fri next week. Of course I will be getting into town about 6:15am to then get on the shuttle to go downtown from Target. I'm assuming that is way to early. So maybe we can figure out an evening to have one of us meet you in Dexter or something. What evening works best for you. I'll have him figure out a price, however it won't be much.

Well if it's Target South, that's right by my house so I'm sure I could get my hiney out of bed that early as long as I can just go back to sleep, lol.

yes it is Target south. If that is what you want to do, pick a morning and I'll be sure to be there by 6:15.

If you two ever want in the future I could set you up with mice also. I raise my own and sell some. I live about 130 miles from Rochester but I do get in the Rochester quite a bit. I drive semi there, I deliver to Seneca in Rochester. Just another option for you if you need it.
