Hi guys i was just wondering if anyone tried keeping corns and balls on the same rack. or can we do that? i have a rack now but was thinking of keeping a mixture of balls and corns pls advice thank you! =)
Agree with Betsy. Unless you have 2 thermostats on the rack to maintain two different temps for the corns and balls, it's not a good idea. I also think balls need much larger tubs (as adults), but I'm sure different racks can accomodate that, or your corns could just have extra room.
I've heard many balls are happy in 20g sized enclosures similar to some adult corns. I gave my ball a bigger tank and she NEVER used any of the space. She's auctually more active in a smaller space...I take her out regularly too. My biggest boy cornsnake, he needs a 55gallon sized enclosure because he's constantly on the move, climbing and such. He's active...and needs the space.
I think if you can get the humidity, and temperatures correct in all envrionments, then there should be no problem keeping them in the same rack. The key is getting the envrionments right for everyone. I've got sepperate dimmers for all heat mats at the moment.
It can be done, but I personally don't see it as worth the effort. It would be far easier to just have two different racks. Not to mention it looks more organized
