so mines got this thing where he just lays there, i dunno if hes sleeping or what hes doing but this has happened a few times including just now. i went to fill his water dish and he didnt move, he was right beside it, so i misted him with some water and nothing, blew on him and nothing, gave him a light shove with my finger and still nothing. and now i look at him and hes hanging out in his tree, is this unusual for these things to do or was he jst sleeping or not giving a damn?

it may be one of those "pretent to play dead" situations, he maybe thought you were going to eat him so he just froze up and and as soon as the threat was gone he felt comfortable again

yeah hes only done it a few times. hes always on the move though, likes to play, tries to hold him self up between the lid and the top of his tank, randmly burries himself, stuff like that. he plays around a fair bit.

i dont think he saw me as a threat though as he has been doing the tail shake at me up until the last time i took him out, and from the last time i had him out he stopped doing it. i figured he might have just been sleeping or didnt care enough to move for me

Hi Uchi...

I've never had a corn do this, but my hognose snakes do. They'll even hang their tounge out - it's hysterical!!!

You know it's very hard to tell if a snake is asleep - they don't close their eyes, right? You might have just caught him napping.

thanks tonya, thats what i was thinking he was doing too, or hes just comfortable enough with me that he doesnt try to get away when i reach into the tank

My ground boa does that. If I dump her out of her hide into my hand she'll just sit there like a lump until some little thing sets her off. Then she tries to leap out of my hands.

Probably just hoping I didn't notice her sitting there in my hand.

lol i think snakes are amasin animals and i cant wait till my corn grows a bit she's a bit strikey at the minute :)
