Are Corn snakes arboreal?

Are corn snakes arboreal? in many books i have read, they say that corn snakes should be provided with somewhere to climb, a branch or ledge. i have provided a branch in my viv, but my snake does not seem to climb at all.

are they arboreal in any way in captivity?

They are a Jack-of-all-trades, master-of-none.

I wouldn't classify them as arboreal, like an amazon tree boa or something.

They spend most of their time on the ground, but can be good climbers. Sometimes they seem to defy gravity. And every individual is different. Maybe yours is afraid of heights!

My male spends a lot of his time up the branch but my female never bothers with hers. So i guess it just depends on the snake :)

It does seem to be down to each individual's preference - they certainly can climb if they choose to. I have a couple of multi-level vivs. Some of my Corns love them and pretty much live on the upper levels, others seem to prefer staying at ground level.
