HI, its been a while since i've been on but my brother in law has a problem with his cornsnake. It hasn't been eating regularly and it now seems to have layed some eggs. Sorry i have no photo's. Since the snake hasn't been bred he just wondered what he should do. The "eggs" appeared after the snake shed about 18 hrs ago. Any advice would be much appreciated. The snake is nearly 3 yrs old if that makes a difference, thanks in advance for any replies..

Assuming they're eggs (photos or a description would help) then they'll be infertile as the snake has never been bred. He can just throw them away - as long as he's certain that she's never been near a male that is.

They can store sperm for over a year (apparently) so if she's been in contact with a male in the last year then the eggs may be fertile. If so, put them in the freezer for a couple of days before throwing them away. Just makes sure nobody has a nasty surprise at the town dump! Pretty long odds, but ya never know...

At about three years old a female will just have reached maturity. She might decide to do this every year, so warn him to be prepared for more of the same next year. She'll probably need a bit of extra food for the next 3-4 feeds, to get her back to her pre-laying condition.

Thanks..

Thanks for the prompt response. Sorry i dont have much more information or pics, i will pass the info on . I'm sure he's been searching the net himself aswell anyway..
