Here's my bloodred, Aries, that I got on Sunday. Not quite sure if it's a boy or a girl, but I think it's a girl. I tried popping her last night (after watching Kathy Love's video) and nothing came out. So, I'm assuming it's a girl or I did the procedure wrong. Either way, I'll be bringing it to the vet to get it checked out and make sure if it's girl or a boy. I'm having my fingers crossed for it to be a boy, so I can mate it to Arshess. But, either way, I'm just happy that I finally got a bloodred. So, without further ado, I present, Aries!
(Btw, sorry the lighting is so bad. It really threw off Aries color. >.<)
And there she is!
Also, I was wondering if anyone could tell me if there's a relation to a bloodreds hatchling color to how deep and dark it's hue will be when it becomes an adult. So far, Aries is the darkest bloodred hatchling that I've seen. I've been looking around the web, and haven't seen anything as dark as her. But, that's probably because the hatchling pictures that I've seen are of the very young hatchlings. Right now, her saddles are a deep redish brown. Like the color of dried blood. As for her grey head, it seems to be almost too dark for a bloodred. But then again, I really don't know anything about how bloodred hatchlings are supposed to look. I just choose her because she was the darker one between the two bloods that I was looking at and went with her hoping that she would turn out to be the "old school" bloodred that I'm looking for. If not, she'll still be just as gorgeous in my eyes.
