This is my baby I got on Thursday... Decided tonight I'd take a couple of pictures of him, since he was being exceptionally calm. He'd wait and strike a pose right after I put the camera down. :( Anyway, I'm pretty sure he's an anery... I was told he's a "black albino", which to be (a biology major) made me kind of scratch my head. Anyway, here he is! I was told he was born in either April or May of '08.

Thank you! :) I just wish he'd sleep where I could see him instead of hiding under the aspen all the time! Then I could oggle him without worrying about bothering him.

They are mostly nocturnal animals. They'll come out at night/in the dark to explore/look for food (lol). Depending on your heat set-up, a nice way to watch them, is with a red/heat light. They don't see light in that spectrum.
In a dark room, you'll be able to see them and they won't be intimidated by the "big monkey". :D

I have an infrared light, actually. But he's a bit of a lazy bum! I understand that he's still shy, though, so I'm not expecting much. :)

It's definitely Anery, Anerys are called black albinos just like Amelanistic snakes are called red albinos.

Neat little critter :)

Thank you! And yeah, I figured it out once I did a little bit more research, but you have to admit it sounds like an oxymoron at first!

LOL Matt knows they are anerys, but he says folks recognize the name "Black Albino" easier... not sure about that... I call them anerys and he responds in kind :)

I'm sure I saw your guy as I always hang out at the corn tanks while he's getting me my feed order. They have a cute little Sunglow motley, but I'm resisting as I don't plan on breeding them and I already have one that I don't know the sex of... my luck, I'd get two of the same sex :)

Oh, I trust him. :) I'm just paranoid about everything, I suppose. And yeah, there were actually two anerys there, I got the smaller one, and I didn't bother looking what else they had, since I had my mind made up! He's such a sweetie, though.
