AVATAR....won't let me post a pic on profile....it keeps saying that it is too big....even though the picture is as small as it will get(1inch x 1inch)

Make sure it is 160x160 pixels, and you might want to try saving it as a JPEG file. It could be the file size that is too big, not the pic size.

The resolution is probably too high. A 1 inch x 1 inch picture at 300 DPI for example would be 300 pixels x 300 pixels. :wavey:

Go int paintshop, or MS Paint, and then click: "Save As" On the bottom of the save box (under the filename) there will be a box that says: "Save File As", change it to .JPEG. save it and try using it as your avatar again.

I've been having trouble for two weeks now..........any suggestions. My avatar is 160x160 exactly and it is in the .jpeg format but I still get the errors: either "too big" or "not a correct .jpeg, .gif, etc." message. If I click on properties it even shows the file size to be 13.7KB. I have tried both from photobucket and uploading from my computer and still not working. When I do it from photobucket it tells me it is too big, even though the avatar is 160 x 160. So I resize it to 75% of original and then it says it is not in the right format. When I do it from the computer it also says it is too big ?????????? :shrugs:
