Avatre is missing! :'(

I must be the worst snake mom ever! I had Avatre out, and as usual, she climbed up the sleeve of my bathrobe and settled in to sleep, so I grabbed a nearby book and read a little. Went to take Avatre back to her viv, and she wasn't in my sleeve anymore! She somehow slipped out without my noticing! I searched everywhere but can't find her! I think she might have gotten inside the back cushion of my couch, as it has a tear at the bottom, and I was leaning against it when she got away, but the foam in there is so dense, I can't look for her without tearing it apart, and I'd be afraid of hurting her. I just feel so awful!

I've currently got hides from her viv scattered at either end of the couch, along the wall, plus one on the couch in front of the cushion I think she might have gone into. I also have hides at either end of the fridge, since it's just on the other side of the wall from the couch, and I've heard that they like to hide under fridges. I also took her viv into the living room and put it next to the couch with the lid propped open, in case she gets attracted to the familiar smell, and the heat. I've also thawed three pinkies, and put one in the hide on the couch, one in her favourite hide on the ground next to the couch, and one in the hide by the fridge. I've also coated the floor around the perimeter of the wall where the couch is with flour, so I can see where she has gone, if she is still in the area. Is there anything else I should be doing?

I'm just so upset with myself for not paying closer attention! I just really thought I'd feel it when she came out, I usually do! I feel so terrible!

If your bathrobe has pockets make sure you check inside them. Also you could get some blue painters tape and set a couple tape traps. Hope you find her soon!

Thanks guys. I check the sleeves of the bathrobe thoroughly, and shook it out vigorously, can't remember if I checked pockets or not, but I'll check them when I get home. Doubt she's in there though, considering my 25 pound Pug was sleeping on the bathrobe on my bed for a good chunk of the night. None of the flour was disturbed this morning, so wherever she is, she didn't move overnight.

Alicia, how do you make tape traps? I know how to make a bottle trap, and I plan to make one when I get home from work today, but I don't know how to set up a tape trap.

Uggghh, I'm just so worried! Was up until 1:30 this morning searching for her, and haven't been able to concentrate at work at all!

She must have been in the couch the whole time! i havent been using the couch at all, just in case, and today I was using the cushions of my IKEA chairs so I could curl up on the floor, but Kuma kept wanting to jump on the couch, so I pulled the seat cushion up so he wouldn't want to, and there she was, curled up under the cushion!!! I've checked there so many times with no luck, I'd almost given up checking there!

She's back in her viv, safe and sound, and I haven't stopped thanking God for answering my prayers since!

And I've fixed the hole in my cushion, and I will NEVER read while she's chilling in my sleeve ever again!!!

Yay, yay, yay!

Also oops, I missed where you asked about tape traps. Hopefully you never need this info, but all you need to do is make a loop with the tape (like you would to hang a poster only longer) and stick it on the floor next to a wall. Always use blue painters tape. Everything else is to sticky and could cause damage trying to get it off.

Or you can just pull off strips of tape a couple feet long and lay them in twists along the walls. BLUE tape only.
