i'm just wondering if this seems normal. i never see my baby drink out of her dish, but after i spray the tank she comes out and drinks from the plant leaves. does that mean that is the only water she is drinking or is she drinking from her dish too?

does this seem normal. before she sheds she gets pale for about 2 days, but then goes back to normal, then sheds like 5 days after she was pale.

thanks for answering my questions, i have never had a snake before and am paranoid that i'm doing something wrong. i have learned alot from this site and i was doing a bunch of things wrong. everyone here rocks

Drinking: If your snake is thirsty she'll drink. Few people actually see this happen, they'll normally do it in the night when it's quiet. Suzy will drink moisture off things, drink when he's having a bath, and drink from his bowl when I'm holding him. But this isn't common.

Shedding: When snakes shed they go pale (their eyes go cloudy or blue), then they go back to normal, then a few days fater this they shed.

So, in short, your snake is fine on both issues :D

If you haven't already, I suggest that you buy the 'corn snake manual' (by Bill and Kathy Love) - this is the "bible" for corn snake lovers!

I'm sure you're doing everything fine, and welcome :)

Cowgoddess,

Your corn is so fine it's super fine! It wasn't till way later that I saw Katie or Kassie drink water.

Just remember that your corn knows how to take better care of itself than you do! Just give it what it needs and it will do the rest!

Around shedding time it is helpful for you to raise humidity in the enclosure and bathing your corn is helpful for a clean shed.
