i got my son a 4 month old amel for his christmas, who he has named yoshi.

nice colors! I got one on the 12th this month and I thought mine was about 4 months but I guess not since it measures about 17''.
 
Yoshi is cute. Congrats on the new addition. Santa was good this year.

It is so hard to judge age just by length. I have 3 hatchlings that I kept this year. 2 are clutch mates but they were that big by 4-5 months and the last one, not related to these, is much smaller. So between genetics and feeding schedule it is impossible to give an exact birth month with out finding out from the breeder. But I know with both my big babies. Their parents were fast growers too.

Yeah, most people tell me the same about size and age. Since I got mine from a pet store I will never now the age.
 
yoshi was a problem feeder when he was born so he is a bit smaller, he wont be long in catching up. he gets a slight bit bigger every feed.
