Back heat/belly heat?

So I am working on ordering the last pieces to my first 10 snake rack..
I was planning on doing a back panel for the heat, with a thermometer attached to each bin..

However, people say belly heat is better, but since heat climbs and I would only use one thermostat, how do you get past that? or does it remain somewhat the same? (I presume since everyone does it) but yes if anyone could elaborate that for me because I am gonna order the flexwat here for it so I am trying to figure out how much electrical tape, wires etc I need..

Thank you!

If the heat sources are all the same size/wattage, you can use one thermostat.
There will be some temp difference from the bottom to the top, but not a significant amount. I usually put the males in the lower sections, as well as other species that do better with lower temps.

As far as belly/back/etc heat, I use ambient heat. I have an oil core radiant heater in the middle of my room, with a double thermostat hooked up to it, and a ceiling fan above it that circulates the heat.

I'm going to set up a night temperature drop, and I will add a few radiant heat panels in some of my Carpet Python cages for the females during breeding season.

I have a friend who runs heat tape along the back of his racks (he makes his own racks) and that has been successful for him for many years.

Are you running on the inside, close to the bins, or on the outside of the back of the rack?
It would be best to run it on the inside, up next to the bins.

yes it will be on the inside with a back panel to hold the heat in.. otherwise I'd have to run the thermostat high to reach the warm enough point of the air.. I will probably have to run it at almost 95 to reach the 85-87 in the bin with enough vent holes on the front to generate the gradient (hope this makes sense).. no one really goes in on those specifics.. I guess either they know how to do it, or it's just working...

Do you have a digital temp gun? Maybe do a trial run to see what range you need to get the hot side the correct temp, then when you have it figured out, move the snakes to that rack.

oh yes I will def have to do a trial run.. and no, I don't have temp guns.. I have little movable digital thermometers with the cords. I should probably invest in the temp gun..
It will be a little easier and then jus have a few of the thermometers, I tend to check them all a couple of times a day because if ambien drops..
