Bad Shed on Tail

Hey guys, I'm concerned for my corn snake because he shed recently and all looked fine until I looked closer. There's still shed on the last cm of his tail and its turned blackish. What should I do?
 
That looks like it may have more than one stuck shed on it. He might lose the tip of his tail. You can try letting him slither through a damp towel in your hands and apply gentle pressure as he moves.
 
Would a dab of corn oil (no pun) on the tail area help to release the stuck shed? Best of luck with this issue.
 
The oil may help, but I have found that soaking the tail for a few minutes in a tub of water will help loosen the stuck shed, and I have very gently used my fingernail to sort of pick at the retained shed. Also, when the tip is soaked, try softly rolling the tail tip to loosen it even further. You will have a mildly annoyed snake, but it beats the alternative of possible infection of necrotic tissue.
