Baird's x Corn

Katt

Canadian Corn Fan
I've had a few people ask about my baird's x corn snakes so I thought I'd post a few updated pics.

Here's a pic of my pair together.

Yup, it's a rat snake. Not sure of it's range, I think Texas and south into Mexico

They are really neat looking Katt, i'd like to see an amelanistic version of them :)

Thanks guys!

Actually, they are mean buggers, and the male will draw blood. My female baird's is ultra gentle, and my corns are all nice. So who knows.

The father was a ghost het albino, so maybe they have albino. Doesn't matter to me as I don't like albinos (amels) and think it generally ruins how a snake looks b/c there is no contrast to define pattern, and I'm a pattern over colour person. I do hope hypo shows up in the F2 b/c I really like hypo and think it enhances any colour trait greatly.

Well, if you ever hatch out any ruined, just can't stand amels from them or from F2's (if you go that way) please allow me to take 'em off your hands...we'll meet at the border...;)

Beautiful snakes...!!!!

Yeah, I hear they can be pretty hard to calm...
they actually look a bit agressive in that first picture...

the head pattern on the male is very unique...!!!!

All my Baird's are more active than my corns when being handled, but none have ever tried to bite. They stink to high heaven when they must on you. I have an albino male Baird's that I'm thinking of pairing up with an amel corn, just for kicks. He's super gorgeous.

How old are your pair? Are they changing colors like the pure Baird's?

They are a year old. Here are some older pics to compaer how they've changed.

Just hatched.

After their third shed

Since then I've lost track b/c the first three shed showed the most amount of change. After that, the red just intensified as well as the grey, the purple colour was lost and the male has developed yellow in his body much like baby baird's.

those are extremely beautiful! that attitude would make me quite nervous to handle them though!
