Bamboo Canes?

iv got some bamboo canes, the type you use for gardening, and i was wondering whether these are ok to incorporate into a viv? not sure if bamboo is toxic to corns or anything? thanks

I can't see what harm they would do.

If you want them for a practicality purpose though, a corn might have trouble climbing them.

I'm still learning about corns tho, so I would see what other people think first.

i was thinking more about mounting them horizontally in the tank than vertical, in which case my corn would have no problems climbing them. :D thanks for reply

Yeah they will be fine although I would definitely give them a soak in bleach solution first. Just to be on the safe side. Preferably I would heat them in the oven too but obviously for something that shape it is impractical.

As for climbing I would say these would be more decorative no matter which way you had them. To solve this I would place a group of them together so that the snake has more surface area to position itself and hold on to.

I think it will be great! I'm thinking about getting some myself, and then figuring out how to rope them together. I'm not theat handy, but it seems simple enough.

il c what i can do with them, and then post c sum pictures for you guys, see how see what you think :D and mayb giv u sum ideas

I saw some at the craft store and was going to do the same thing, but they are hollow. He may like hiding somewhere in the middle and it would be a pain trying to get him out... the reason I didn't get them...

the ones i have are dried , and are actually very thin, there is no way my snake could get anything other than the very tip of his tail into the hollow middle lol. im just trying to figure out a way of puttin it to good use! :D
