Hey, just wondering if anyone has any useful guides to help with breeding corns. I for one would love to breed snakes but have no idea where to start.

From deciding which snakes to breed, age, health, eggs, incubator? all the way down the line until we have little hatchlings lol

Help and advice always appriciated :)

I would order Kathy Love's book at www.cornutopia.com and start there. All the information you need is in that book. And one thing to always consider is making sure you have homes for or places to sell the babies before you breed. Good luck.

Absolutely. Sometimes the easy bit is getting hatchlings and that's just the point at which the real headaches and problems begin.

What you do with them once they've hatched is far more important than the breeding process itself, because selling them on (or giving them away) actually involves their welfare. It's always best to plan ahead on this point.

I agree that you should get some of kathy loves books and another good book to get would be cornsnake morph guide, and the book Genetics for herpers. you can get them at cornguide.com

Breeding Guide

I agree. The Kathy Love books are great. I have one by the bed and one on the coffee table. I always second guess my decisions and she answers everything for me.

I also enjoy looking the the Cornsnake Morph Guide. It's a pretty good overview of genetics. It is fun to look at and make plans for the future-------I only wish that the snakes reproduced as quickly as the mice:shrugs:
