is it like snake mating season or something? cuz my snake is usually friendly, however during his last feed while filling his water dish with the same container i used since i got him he CHARGED at it and struck the container, which is a first, then today while filling it again he struck at my hand.

normally hes super friendly and hasnt bitten me in a couple years now ( since i first aquired him)

Perhaps it's something in the water! Yours is the second behavior change thread here. It could be male behavior now that it's getting close to breeding time. Could be he's getting ready to shed and he's feeling cranky, maybe you startled him, or maybe there's something physically wrong with him.

Well if this is the second thread, maybe its just because hes a male, ive never had him sexed so i dont really know for sure if hes a boy or girl...but if its aproaching mating season and if thats the cause of it (which i hope so) id say its a boy!
