Behavior Issue - Suddenly Aggressive

CornyApollo

Apollo has always been a weird one. He hates hides, loves people, and most of all, always wants to be held. All of a sudden he's showing aggressive behavior (strike pose, suddenly jumping back, flinching). I've also noticed he's using his hide more (although you can see most of his body - silly snake). He's also much racier when you hold him. He doesn't coil around you gently, he'll run forward then suddenly rear back.

Nothing has changed in his environment except we have had a new snake, Basil, Ball Python, for about 3 weeks. Everything is up to par according to Kathy Love's manual (which I recommend to anyone who hasn't read it ;) )His temps are consistent, he has no infections or sickness, last week, while being fed, he was fine. He's burrowing like normal. We merely haven't held him as much lately. He's not in shed. He's not even close to shedding, and no one bugs him. I have noticed, however, that he'll be up at random hours, as well as sleep randomly.

Any suggestions? We haven't been bit yet, because we noticed the behavior before grabbing him. When touching him, he'll suddenly lunge at whatever is holding him.

Thanks in advance!

Now I feel stupid...

Nevermind. My boyfriend was just being hesitant, apparently, which bugged Apollo. He was totally fine when my BF finally had the guts to grab em. Psh. :D

Sorry y'all. Kinda jumped the gun there.

lol, I was just going to come in with the suggestion of the neighbours. In our old house if the neighbours turned on the washing machine next door you could feel it, and that could definately drive a snake to be cranky. But at least its sorted now.
