Belly Checks...but, they disappear.

What do you get when you cross a Silver Queen Ghost with a normal, Het for ghost and lavender?

Well, I didn't get any ghosts, but I did get a lot of these fellows.

The ventral checks run down the neck, then they unzip, off to the sides, and disappear. Interesting. Almost Motleys.

But it was a normal het ghost.. Very odd can you post some pics after they shed?

Oh. Sorry. I misinterpreted the post.

I thought he was asking what would be the outcome of Silver Queen Ghost x Normal and then asking if it would be Hets for Ghost and Lavendar. I was thinking that he misunderstood the genetics of a Silver Queen Ghost and thought that Lavendar was mixed in too.

Even if the normal was het for ghost that doesn't mean that he would definitely end up with some anerys, hypos, or ghosts. Luck could have just been against him, as it is just probabilities, not definites, though it is strange that he wouldn't have gotten at least one of the other morphs.

Gregg, are you POSITIVE that the normal is het ghost? Did you get hypos and anerys, as well as normals, but just didn't mention it in the post?

Normal, Het for Ghost and Lavender

I bought the snake from Kathy Love. It was sold to me as a Notmal, Het. ghost and lavender. If it isn't, then....

Yes, I got normal, anery, and hypo, but no ghosts. All have ventral checks on the neck, but then they appear to 'unzip' as they travel down towards the tail. I think it comes from the silver queen side of the family, since almost all my silver queens have a similar ventral patterning.

Interesting~~
those patterns looks like that they're het for motley or something like that (not saying that they are)...but it does look more or less like those ones that are het for motley~~

Yeah, Simon, I agree.

They almost look like motleys.

I think it lays in the background of the silver queen ghost--and I'm not saying that there is motley in the silver queen background. You'll have to take that up with the man. I have noticed my silver queens losing their belly checks as they get older, however. They also produce off-spring that have little belly pattern and an almost banded appearance on the backs. I held back seven sqg's from last year because of this.

Who knows maybe there's something there; we'll see.
