Best book about Corn snake care???

I inherited my snake from a friend who moved away a couple years ago, and she gave me a book "The Corn Snake Manual" by Bill and Kathy Love, which has been very helpful. I was just wondering if there were any other books out there that are better/more accurate maybe for caring for corn snakes, I don't really know the credentials of any authors on corn snakes, and don't want to blindly follow the Loves' book without some assurance first

As for your book by Bill and Kathy Love, most corn snake enthusiasts would say that's certainly one of the best resources if not the best.

There are others out there too, but you won't go wrong with that book.

If you have time to waste, and don't mind reading a bit, you can find a lot of good info on this site as well, you just have to figure out the good info from the crap, which is usually easy to do.

You'll notice if you stick around a while, there are folks here with happy healthy snakes, and you'll notice there are people here that are constantly in need of help and in some type of crisis.

You'll figure out who has the reliable info and who's full of crap.

If you want to check out another book, this one <link below> is also good -

Hi there SyracuseSnake! How ya been?

The book you have by Bill & Kathy Love and the one Karl gave the link to are probably the two most popular books ever written on the care of corn snakes. Also, Karl's suggestion to subjectively sift through the myriad posts on this site is a wonderful supplement that will give you a leg up on taking care of your little sneaky one, although it seems as if you've been doing that already for a couple of years (apologies if I misinterpreted your post).

Myself, I actually lurked around this site for almost a year when something happened with my adult snakes that compelled me to come out of the shadows and make myself known. Glad I did, as the social component of caring for a pet can add a diversity of layers to the joys and challenges you will experience as the relationship with your snake grows.

In any case, welcome and home you stick around!! :crazy02:

Thanks! I've had my snake for about three years now, but just moved into a new apartment and am revamping his setup and that's what is inspiring me to finally make my own account and participate too! I'm gonna try to stay involved with the site, too. :grin01:

Hi SyracuseSnake. Welcome :wavey:

I just realize that you probably have the older version of the Love book which said Corn Snake Manual on the cover and had a pic that looks like a row of snake midsections all lined up next to each other. I've never owned that version and I'm sure it's excellent, but if you want to check it out the newer version is here:

https://www.amazon.com/Corn-Snakes-Comprehensive-Herpetocultural-Library/dp/1882770706

I hope that in the future you will post some pictures of your snake here:

While there are a lot of progressions showing how young snakes grow, you can make a thread for any age snake or snakes. Looking forward to your participatioon!
