Hi, just wondering where the best room in the house to keep my snake is. Had him in my kitchen till a week ago then moved him to my bedroom while decorating. when he was in the kitchen he seemed quite curious about everything and its a warmer room. Now hes in my bedroom which is cooler i dont see him out and about as much. Could that just be bacause im in the room less or he preferred the kitchen which was always quite busy? ive had him for 4 weeks and hes been the perfect snake.

I'd imagine he was just curious as to what was going on in the kitchen, I would'nt really think theres a problem to what room you keep him in, as long as your temps and etc are correct.

hope this helps.

Reassured.

Thanks, it does. i think its just because i was getting used to seeing him in passing and because our kitchen and lounge are open plan so i could see him even when i was in other room, also kept him on table i sit at to read or do other stuff.Keep inventing reasons to go in room to check if hes out.thought he might prefer the peace and quiet in my room.

well this is just my opinion, but I think that he was probably used to being around the comotion in the kitchen and wasn't bothered by it, because if he was scared of it he would have hid and not been out and about. I think that you should keep him socialized and near everyone. I moved mine out of the bedroom and into the living room for that exact reason. Now when I walk around in the livingroom, he pops his head out of the hide to see where I'm going, it's really cute. I like to have him in a room that I'm in alot so I can see him more often to.

I have one snake in the kitchen, and she is very involved in whatever is going on. She hardly ever goes into a hide, but stays out in the open draped over her branch. I stop and talk to her every time I go by- I think she likes it- she comes up to the screen and flicks her tongue. As soon as I go out into the kitchen in the morning she wakes up and comes out to say hi.

thanks

hearing other peoples opinion does make a difference, i was worried i was being selfish in wanting in a room were i can always see him. i think i will have him back in the kitchen because he was much more sociable. i dont want him to get shy of people when i have a 4 year old. As always all opinions and advice is welcome. thanks.
