Best way to get frozen mice

I'm about to get my first corn snake. She will be 4 months old when I get her. Looking at shipping costs for frozen food is really discouraging... Is there a site that doesn't charge out the nose for shipping? Or do you have other advice?

With 1 four month old corn snake you are better off buying frozen pinky/fuzzy mice locally. Even at a couple of bucks per mouse a week its worth it. Anything you buy in bulk (until he/she is eating adult mice anyways) your snake will soon out grow it before using them all.

I found a place that i can get mice at. but when i go home for 3 months in the summer, the closest place is an hour away. any advice?

You can buy mice for 3 months before going home, pack them in a styrofoam box with ice or a portable fridge (like the ones to go to beach or camp) and take them with you, then put them in the normal freezer.
I'm in a similar situation, though. I live 1h away from the capital, which is the only place for me to get the correct sized mice. I buy like 10 live ones online, sometimes personally go buy there, and then I euthanase them at home and freeze them. I know euthanasing animals is not what you want to do, no one does, but it's an option to consider. Plus you can feed freshly prekilled if the shop is near enough to go every week.
