Better of two evils..?

Hey every body. Im purchasing a milksnake tomorrow off craigslist. (I'm
Aware this is for corn snakes) The seller is this teen who isn't allowed to order reptiles, and asked me if I could order him a snake (Baby brooks King snake) and he would give me the money to order it and have it delivered to his house. (His parents don't know he's getting another reptile) I ordered it today doing him the favor and it should be coming in the early morning. I planned on opening the package and placing him in my 28 quart tub with some hides, water bowl, heat pad etc. for some reason this kid is paranoid and scared his animal will be stressed and for me to leave him inside his deli cup in the box and not open it. Additionally he says he's never had unboxing experience so he wants to open it...the King snake should be coming in around 9:30am. And I won't be driving down to meet him in his neighborhood until 5 ish in the afternoon. What are y'all's thoughts on this? I think the better of two evils is to just put him in a temp. Enclosure till I deliver it.

P.s this is the second snake I've had to order him since he lost his desert King from multiple escapes.

In all honesty, the better or two evils is to disappoint the kid and NOT order him a snake. What if his parents find out about it? Are you willing to take this on? Are you willing to be a cause for this boy getting in trouble?

Not to mention you could be getting setup with buying illegal stuff. Animals, drugs, etc....which would be my thought as to why he doesn't want you to open it.

What Shiari said. Buying a random stranger kid a live animal that he's not allowed to have doesn't spell good things for the poor snake either. And it won't look good on you when (not if) he gets caught.

Not to mention he doesn't sound like he's been very responsible with his former snakes, so why get him another one to lose?

As a protective mother of six kids, I would probably call the police if I find out an adult was buying my kid something without my permission. As a pet lover I sort of understand why you want to help the kid, I would ask him to talk to his parents.

Since it's coming tomorrow morning, sounds like a done deal so I won't echo other's thoughts on that matter. On to the snake... I would personally open and temp gun the box upon arrival. If temps are in the 70's, I'd leave it there until 5. I certainly wouldn't take it out of its deli.

Yeah well snakes coming tomorrow so that's done.Doing the kid a favor since I feel bad. There's no drugs or anything like that, I've met this kid a few times already he's like 16. His parents are letting him get another snake. I guess they're too busy to noticed what they're kid does. Oh and trust me, I just turned 19 and my mom still goes with me on these craigslist meet ups. Better safe than sorry

There's no drugs or anything like that

You can't say that for sure.

His parents are letting him get another snake.

Then let THEM order it for him. I agree, nothing about this transactions sounds good. I would want to talk to the parents before handing the snake over, I don't know the legalities of it, but if it isn't okay with them, I wouldn't want to be in the middle of it all.
