Bigger viv?

Hi everyone!
I was wondering if people think that Salvador needs a bigger viv? Personally I'd like to put her in a bigger one for more exercise and room to move around. The pet shop lady said that she recommends putting her in a bigger one when she is the length of half way around the viv (ie the length and depth), which she roughly is- but the lady's only concern is that she was a problem eater when we first had her- she eats very well now and is on 2 pinkies but we don't want to disturb her good eating pattern. She's 6 months old and measures approx. 17 inches. Her viv is a little over 10 x 7 inches. Here are some pics of her in it, which aren't great (sorry!) but I thought it would help you see her size:

Thanks in advance for all your help! :)

She will eventually need a bigger cage, yes. Most people recommend at least a 20 gallon long tank (30Lx12Wx12H), but bigger is always nicer. :}

So not now? We do have an intermediate cage before we get her a 20 gallon+ viv which is slightly bigger but also much taller, since she seems to like climbing into the lid of her viv at the moment, so we were thinking of moving her to that?

Well, if you have a bigger tank now, I don't see why you wouldn't just go ahead and move her into that. There's a rule about if the snake is longer than the tank/viv/etc. on the long side and a short side, it's too small...or something like that. I'm sure someone else can clarify on that. xD

Ok thank you for your help :) That's what we thought but we wanted to make sure before we moved her in case she got stressed by it :)

I think a move into a slightly bigger tank is a good compromise at the moment. With a slightly picky eater, you always run the risk of disturbing their eating patterns by changing their environment, but it looks like she'll need something larger eventually.

I'd suggest giving it a try and keeping her current tank "on standby" just in case she doesn't settle back into her regular eating pattern after a few weeks.

Cool, thank you for the advice. That's exactly what we'll do :) She's being fed tonight so in a few days we'll move her and then leave her a while longer before feeding to make sure she's settled in. Thank you both for your speedy replies!
