Well, the title says it all. Been meaning to get some updated photos of him taken, and what better time than with a fresh shed.

*photos aren't great, didn't have much time to take photos of him*

nice bloodred !!!!!!

Thank you everybody!

And he's not from Vinny's stock... my apologies if there was confusion with my posting in Vinny's forum. I had just done a search for "blood red white belly', because I was trying to identify if that was anything unusual, which might answer questions about my blood red, and if there was a connection to his bright red diffusion and white belly. And Vinny's thread had come up in my search, which interested me enough to post photos of mine.

I actually got this guy from Regal Reptiles at an expo a few years ago. I couldn't help but stop to check him out, because his sides were so red and diffused (honestly stuck out), and when the lady said "$25" I said "sold". So I really have no history on him (assumed him), and although breeding him would be the only solid answer to my questions, I think there's just something different about him.

I know that all snakes are 'different', but I've come across a lot of 'blood-red' babies at shows (and some are really nice), but I haven't seen any babies that resembled him. Not just in uniqueness, but in the absolutely brilliantly red sides that he's had since he was a baby. The only snakes that look like him are the 'Pied-side' that I see online (in color and diffusion), but he has no noticeable white-siding. Which made Vinny's thread all the more interesting, because his description of a very low-pied (or selectively bred to be as red as possible) snake (and pied-siblings) sounded very similar.

He *does* however... have a bit of white speckling that I can see in the pictures. My pet hypothesis has yet to be debunked; that pied-sided is a natural side effect of the extreme diffusion we breed for. I wouldn't be surprised if he gave you pied-sided animals if bred to one.
